Hey there! Daniel here on words, with Flo on photos.
Beautiful night in San Francisco tonight. This is a pretty barebones event — not that many people here at Pier 27 for the LG V20 launch, but we're excited to bring it to you!
Stream starts in a couple of minutes, so sit back, relax and let us blog your mind.
I am shooting with the Moto Z Force tonight, fyi!
We got some Joseph Gordon-Levitt on screen... he's a spokesperson for LG. Good stuff!
Frank Lee on stage now to get the party started.
Frank Lee is the head of PR and Communications for LG. Talking about the how the V20 is built with storytellers in mind.
"We want anyone with someone to share to use the V20"
Aubrey from LG is streaming the event over Facebook Live (which should be embedded below if you haven't seen it already)
LG has partnered with JGL's HitRecord production studio to "embrace the everyday spectacular" with the V20
Video supercut showing off the features. Looks like a great phone. Hope you get to see it soon (hint, hint).
Oh hey Digital Trends, we found some of your video footage in case you lost it.
Better video, better audio, better software — running Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box!
The V20 uses lightweight aluminum with a light silicon-based material — the same as what's on aircraft.
V20 has MIL-STD 810G drop protection, something missing from a lot of phones today.
That doesn't necessarily mean it's waterproof, just that it will likely withstand some water ingress and the occasional drop. Good stuff!
Of course, the V20 is the first phone to include Android 7.0 out of the box, as well as Vulkan API support for awesome 3D games.
Some of the best features of Nougat (go to YouTube and watch our video!) are included here, including multi-window support and direct replies from the notification bar.
The V20 has Steady Record 2.0, which analyzes each frame and applies it to the overall video.
The V20 is capable of 4K video capture and playback, which, while not new, is "best in class"
The V20 also has Qualcomm Audio, which combines a Quad DAC with improved speakers and extra-sensitive, high-quality microphones.
The V20 also has Qualcomm's Snapdragon X12 modem, which supports download speeds of 600Mbps
"This modem is future-proof," says Qualcomm.
The V20 also supports VoLTE support for select carriers.
The V20 also improves its manual video mode, including ISO, shutter speed, microphone volume, and more.
Not only are there two cameras on both front and back, the V20 supports Hi-Fi audio capture
